Privacy policy

DOF Simulation is an independent camera and lens learning tool published by Lumiverse. This page explains the information used by the simulator and its third-party services.
Simulator settings
Optical calculations run in your browser. The simulator stores preferences, a pinned setup, and your privacy choice in browser local storage. These records do not expire automatically and are not sent to an application server. We do not offer accounts, accept photo uploads, or maintain a database of saved shots. You can use every calculator feature without analytics.
Shared links include setup values in the URL, visible to anyone receiving the link. Requested URLs may also appear in browser history and hosting logs. Do not put personal or sensitive information in a share link. Reset restores the default shot; you can remove all locally saved information through your browser’s site-data settings.
Advertising is currently paused
We retain the Google AdSense site-verification meta tag and public ads.txt record, but do not currently load advertising scripts or request ads. Our analytics preference controls are not a Google-certified advertising consent platform. Before advertising is enabled, we must configure the required consent platform, review ad placement, and update these disclosures to describe the services actually used.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” If you choose “Essential only,” or have not made a choice, we do not load the Analytics script. The calculator works the same either way.
When enabled, Analytics may use first-party cookies and process page views, interactions, IP addresses, approximate location, and browser/device information to help us understand site usage. The initial page-view configuration excludes the query string containing shot settings. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization in the site configuration. Google processes data under its own terms; see Google’s privacy policy, how Google uses data from partner sites, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Hosting and external links
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Hosting requests necessarily include network information such as your IP address, requested URL, time, and browser headers. Cloudflare may process operational and security logs under its service terms; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Manufacturer, GitHub, and Buy Me a Coffee links open external services only when you follow them. There is no embedded support-payment widget. Support payments are handled on the external service under its privacy policy; we do not collect payment-card information on this site.
Your choices
Use at any time. Turning analytics off disables future collection by this page, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site, and reloads without the script. It does not erase data already processed by Google. You can also block or delete site storage in your browser, which resets saved preferences.
